The Latin American Network is a collection of leading independent law firms focused on representing clients in connection with privatization and emerging free economies in Latin America. The collection is comprised of major law firms in North, Central and South America.

Member firms share the following characteristics:

  • Commitment to client service;
  • Lead firms in their home market; and
  • Special expertise in energy, telecommunications and IT other infrastructure development, and financial services and capital markets.

The member firms understand the U.S. and European clients’ expectations that will be performed promptly, thoroughly and correctly. Most of their lawyers are bilingual and many have been educated in the United States or Europe and trained in exchange programs with leading international law firms.

In addition to performing a substantial amount of work for U.S. and European firms, each member firm is a leading law firm in its own market. This is significant for two reasons. First, since a substantial portion of the Latin American regulatory practice is in fact an administrative practice, knowledge of the functions at all levels of public administration is critical. All member firms regularly appear before key governmental agencies and have acquired the necessary expertise to represent clients on administrative matters. Second, by maintaining a local client base among major industrial and commercial groups, member firms are better able to advise and serve foreign clients who wish to understand and have access to the local market.
